Meditations

The rosary is divided into groups of prayers called "decades", each of which is prayed in honor of a mystery of our Lord’s life and that of His Blessed Mother. As we pray each decade, we are asked to meditate from our hearts on a particular mystery, while we pray lovingly to obtain the grace of the fruit of each mystery. Following is a list of the mysteries, and their associated fruits.

Pope John Paul II suggested the inclusion of the mysteries of Christ's public ministry between his Baptism and his Passion. It is during the years of his public ministry that the mystery of Christ is most evidently a mystery of light: “While I am in the world, I am the light of the world” (Jn 9:5).
